Community Growth and Monetisation
Why do communities need monetisation?
All types of communities groups, even religious organizations, need a stable source of income for sustainable development, and operating communities are undoubtedly one of the most effective channels for obtaining economic benefits.
Daoing is designed for community growth and monetisation which involves the following:
User Growth
Content Creation and IP Protection
Payment and Taxes
Governance
Existing Web3 communities often have to use a variety of tools in order to accomplish the above elements. Daoing provides community operators with a one-stop solution to all the needs of community monetization.
1. User Growth
Daoing mainly has four pillars to help the community grow users.
The first pillar is that Daoing is a "community search engine" in the eyes of new users. After entering the App, users can search for communities of interest according to specified keywords, or check which communities their friends have joined. All Daoing users are potential users of various communities; and communities can also use points in Daoing to top their own communities to increase their exposure.
The second pillar is that compared with other mobile apps whose content cannot be easily indexed by search engines, Daoing’s community content will be synchronized to Daoing’s web page to increase the exposure of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and search engines like Google will index all the Community content. When a user enters a keyword on a search engine, there is a high probability that the web page link of the Daoing community will be directly searched, thereby increasing the user conversion rate.
The third pillar is that the community can use Daoing's built-in bounty and reward system to divert traffic from other platforms to the Daoing community. For example, users can obtain token rewards or whitelist qualifications by completing operations such as inviting friends and forwarding tweets, resulting in a chained reaction of user growth.
The last pillar is that Daoing has integrated interfaces with other social media. Users can easily share the content in Daoing to other social media, increasing the exposure of the Daoing community on other media platforms.
2. Content Creation and IP Protection
Taking original pictures, music or videos as examples. Daoing’s built-in Web3 module can easily mint these contents into NFTs and distribute them to different platforms. Creators can also set royalties for trading(so that every time an NFT is traded, the creator will receive a share of trading fees). Protecting intellectual property in the form of NFT allows creators to focus more on content rather than IP protection.
Daoing is further developing more Web3 technologies related to copyright protection, such as rich and flexible content monetization models (pay per view/time, lease, royalties, etc.).
3. Payment and Taxes
Traditional payment methods face tax and handling fee issues. For example, the Apple Store charges a 30% handling fee for subscriptions to paid content, and there is often a 1% to 3% handling fee when users pay with fiat currency (such as credit cards or Apple Pay). Creators sometimes need to explain to the bank or tax agency about the source of income when receiving payments in their bank accounts, which will undoubtedly increase operating costs.
Daoing allows the community to solve the problems encountered by traditional payment methods through a variety of Web3 payment methods, such as
The community can directly receive cryptocurrency transfers
Sell your own cryptocurrency or NFT to community members
Sell goods and services for cryptocurrencies when livestreaming
Since the transfer of cryptocurrencies has almost no handling fee and is anonymous, it will reduce cost and increase the real income of community operators.
4. Community Governance
A problem that traditional communities often encounter is that major decisions are almost completely controlled by the community operator, and other members of the community do not participate enough, and even if they want to participate, it is difficult to influence the final decision.
Daoing has built-in both on-chain and off-chain governance to solve these problems. For example, communities can do polls (off-chain votes) to get an estimate of community feedback towards a certain subject. For important decisions, communities can do on-chain votings through governance smart contracts which is fair and transparent. In this way everyone in the community can take part in the governance process.
